Next week is an exciting week at Bakie! It is Read Across America week. Here are some of the activities that are planned!
Monday – Crazy Socks Day (Foxiest Socks). We have an Assembly at 9:00 – Teachers
Readers Theater
Tuesday – Read a T-Shirt Day!
Wear a T-Shirt with a school appropriate saying on it!
2R has our Book Swap at 9:45-10:00
Wednesday – Wear your Grinchiest Green from head to toe!
Trish Derrickson is our community
reader!
Thursday – Character Day!
Dress as your favorite character!
The second graders will hear guest
author Maryann Coco Leffler read a book!
Friday – Happy St. Patrick’s Day – No SCHOOL
In the Classroom
2R is participating in a special project with 1SB and KP. The three classes will be meeting next week
to learn about their community and the people who work in the community. The kids chose a community worker that they want to learn more about. They will be using books and technology to do
their research while working in multiage groups all based on their interest.
Please continue to work with your child
on the packet of addition and subtraction facts that were sent home. Let me know if you need another copy. This skill is an important one for your child
to develop automaticity in so that they can quickly and accurately recite the
facts.
